Taiwan’s Swancor Holding has opened a subsidiary in Malaysia, named Swancor Ind (M) Sdn Bhd.

“This is the first production site outside the Greater-China area and it is an important milestone for Swancor in the continued development in overseas markets”, says the group. The opening ceremony was attended by the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan and Swancor’s long term partners, including Goldwind Technology and Dairen Chemical.

Swancor Ind (M) Sdn Bhd has a plant area of approximately 8,000 square meters, mainly producing vinyl ester resins, with an anticipated annual production of 7,000 tonnes. “Following the successful trial production, completed in March 2019, the plant will supply the South-East Asian market, and gradually expand to other overseas markets, increasing Swancor’s competetitive service”, according to the group.

Established in 1992, Swancor is now a brand in corrosion resistant materials. “Diversifying into the Wind Energy industry in 2006, Swancor has been recognized for excellence by international wind turbine manufacturers. In addition to supplying resin materials for blades, Swancor was awarded in the Taiwan Offshore Wind Power Demonstration in 2013 and is a pioneer in offshore wind power development in Taiwan”, says the group. In 2015, Swancor further expanded the carbon fiber composites business by establishing a joint venture with Formosa Plastics Group to develop and produce lightweight carbon fiber composite materials.
