AVIC (Huiyang) Unveils China's First Set of Type-certified Composite Propeller Blades

September 3, Huiyang – China’s first set of type-certified composite propeller blades was unveiled by AVIC (Huiyang), signifying an important milestone in the history of China’s aviation industry.


The propeller, identified as JL-4A/1, is designed to equip China’s self-developed large amphibious aircraft AG600, the third member of China’s large aircraft family following large freighter Y-20 and large passenger aircraft C919.

The application of composite blades substantially improve the aerodynamic performance of the propeller, increase its thunder strike resistance and deicing capability.

AVIC (Huiyang), located at Baoding, Hebei Province, is an affiliate of AVIC Group, specialized in the development and production of aircraft propeller made with metal and composite materials.
