First Fleet of 18 CFRP Metro Conception Buses Delivered in Jiaxing

August 31st, Jiaxing – The first fleet of 18 CFRP buses was delivered to Jiaxing Transportation Investment Group Co., Ltd in a celebrating ceremony. and will soon be deployed to operate at two bus rapid transit lines in downtown area. The buses were named after “Red Boat”, in commemorating of the birthplace of the Communist Party of China.


The buses were developed jointly by Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co., Ltd, (King Long), Jiaxing Deyi New Materials Co., Ltd., AVIC Composite, Sinoma-tech and a number of other partners. The adoption of aero-grade carbon fiber composite increase bus strength by 10%, reduce the weight by 30%, and lower energy consumption by 15%.

“The biggest difference in comparison with traditional bus is that, it employs a metro-carriage conception, with lowered floor and widened passage, giving more comfortable ride experience to passengers.” Li Hongyun, VP of AVIC Composites said.

“Jiaxing is the only city in Zhejiang Province listed as a pilot city to promote hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.” Rong Yichao, legal representative of Jiaxing Deyi explained, “our CFRP hydrogen-driven bus will be rolled off later this year, together with local partners, and delivered in 2022.”

He also said “Red Boat” CFRP bus will be promoted nationwide, and exported to countries along Belt and Road Initiative in the future.
