August 20th, Tangshan - - China’s seventh generation of maglev train, claiming a speed of 200km/h, passed periodical test at CRRC’s Tangshan facilities, heading up to type certificate.

The train is developed under China’s Thirteenth Five Years’ Plan as a key program, employing a lightweight carbon fiber composite body structure. It integrates a permanent magnet synchronous traction system with F-rail electromagnetics levitation technology, being first of its kind in rail industry.

The adoption of a series of new technologies allows the train to increase traction efficiency by 20%, decrease energy consumption for levitation by 60%, reduce body weight by 30%, lower turning radius to less than 100m and improve climbing capability by 70‰, providing a new option for city and inter-city transporation.

As the advancing of China’s urbanization process, maglev trains will play an increasingly important role in complementing China’s national transportation network.
