During Sept. 12th-14th, 2023, the same days of China Composites Expo 2023 (CCE 2023), Automotive Composites Innovation Program (AIP) will be launched for the sixth year by the Organizing Committee of CCE 2023.

Since 2017, when AIP was launched for the first edition, it has attracted a good stream of visitors and turned out to be the very highlight, which makes CCE an important platform for communication between Composites Industry and Automotive Industry home and abroad. For this year, AIP will continue to introduce those big innovations on products and technologies in automotive composites industry worldwide.

For now, we have invited big carmakers as Audi, Renault, JEEP, Changan Auto, NIO, GEELY, FAW; big Tier 1 suppliers as Faurecia, Voith, Valeo, Frimo, HRC, LG Hausys, Coleitec, Feize, etc; big raw material suppliers as Dupont, Arkema, Hexion, Owens Corning, Covestro, Ineos, Teijin, etc; Manufacturers as Krauss-Maffei, Dieffenbach, Engel, Fagor Arrasate, etc; Institutes as Fraunhofer ICT, ACTC, etc; Organization as VDMA. They will show to the visitors, by displaying innovations and delivering speeches, the current situation and future development of the world automotive composites industry.

We helped to explore the secret of composite use in BMW i3 (2017), to introduce System Integrated Multi-Material Lightweight Design for E-mobility from SMiLE Project (2018), to uncover the Aerodynamic and Acoustic Optimization of the Underbody of Fully Electrified Vehicles Audi E-tron (2019), and to introduce the achievement of National Science and Technology Major Project (2020).

We displayed more than 100 innovative automotive parts on site.

Conference Details:

Biography:
Graduated with a PhD from Kyoto University of Technology and Fibers in Japan,and has been professor at Donghua University since 2012. Research direction: collision resistance energy absorption performance of fiber reinforced polymer matrix composites (mainly carbon fiber composites), the interface performance of fiber resin, and the high-efficiency and low-cost molding and processing technology of composite materials.
Abstract:
The application of fiber reinforced composite materials in lightweight design of automotive industry has gradually highlighted its pivotal position. This presentation will focus on the molding technology of fiber composite for automotive parts in domestrial and abroad.

Biography:
Doctor, Technical University of Munich, Germany.
2009-2014: associate researcher, Institute of lightweight engineering, Munich University of technology, Germany;
2014-2016: R & D Engineer of body engineering department of Audi AG;
2016-2019: Senior manager of Weilai automobile German lightweight engineering center;
2020-2021: Head of lightweight system integration of Geely Automobile German R & D engineering post center;
Since 2021: Vice President & Chief Technology Officer of Engineering Research Institute of Coleitec Composites Technology Co., Ltd.
Abstract:
-Core performance requirements of power battery pack.
-Technology roadmap analysis of functional components of power battery box structure.
-Application of high performance fibre reinforced composites - Battery top cover.

Biography:
PhD in Materials Science and Engineering. In charge of the 400 km/h all carbon fiber composite equipment warehouse project, 160 km/h fabric extrusion skirt board project, 400 km all carbon fiber composite material vehicle body project, and carbon fiber white body project; Large cross-section multi cavity anisotropic fabric extrusion project, etc.
Abstract:
In this study, multi-axial warp knitted fabrics are used to carry out innovative research on pultrusion process. Starting from key technical points such as layering design, preforming design, closed-mold injection technology, etc., the feasibility of fabric pultrusion application is studied by taking special-shaped complex multi-cavity support beam and big profile panels products as research objects. It shows the future application prospect in the automotive field, breaks through the limitation of traditional pultrusion, and makes it possible to widely replace metal parts.

Biography:
Since 2020, he has been the marketing director of IDI Composite Materials (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. He used to be the chief of comprehensive management and sales department of Foton group automotive division, and the deputy general manager of Fujian Haiyuan New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. He has been engaged in composite materials industry for nearly 10 years, and has been doing business in automobile and new energy industries. He has practical and developing experience in the application of new energy battery cover, passenger car (including Class-A surface materials, tailgate, high-strength underhood, etc.), and the application of new generation pickup truck box.
Abstract:
Semi-structural parts such as pickup truck boxes and passenger car tailgates in China have higher requirements in strength, aging resistance and weight reduction, and they play an important role in the process of lightweight. IDI combines the application cases of high-end composite materials developed by itself in the new generation of new energy pickup truck boxes and tailgates, shares the successful experience of advanced composite materials in improving the performance of semi-structural parts, improving production efficiency, and solving OEM's demand for materials, so as to promote the application of SMC in the new energy vehicles industry.

Biography:
Graduated in Southeast University with majored automation and MBA of Nanjing university. Be ever responsible for technical scenario business management related to automotive component manufacture system in German Metal Processing Machine Tool Group and in charge of project management in automobile industry for the subsidiary of MONGDRAGON Group in China. At present, supervise the domestic marketing and sales for FAGOR ARRASATE auto BU product line.
Abstract:
Up to now, SMC materials and SMC parts haven’t been widely used in automotive field. Materials cost has been recognized as one of the most important factors. At present, due to the limitations of other alternative materials and processes, SMC has become a practical option for lightweight applications. At the same time, SMC parts have to meet the requirements of standards in the automotive industry. This presentation is to show a fully automated, mass production line that will be able to manufacture SMC parts assuring high rates of quality, production capacity and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.

Biography:
Master's degree in Chemistry from Wuhan University and EMBA from Hongkong Univeristy. Deeply involved in research and development field of Fortune 500 chemical enterprises such as Ecolab China, 3M, and Honeywell for 20 years. Be responsible for the development of new technologies, products, and applications in R&D centers in China, Asia Pacific, and EMEA. Currently serving as the R&D Director of APAC S&T, Imerys China, she has founded and led the Asia Pacific R&D Center to serve local customers, and develop products and solutions suitable for local customers.
Abstract:
A specialty Talc solution of Imerys, tailored to the needs of the Chinese automotive industry, in particular, the electric vehicles. This specialty Talcs will provide new performance benefits in the form of greater reinforcement, lightweighting and downgauging of composite materials, achieving greater safety and energy savings for the user. The HAR® talc (high aspect ratio talc) of this solution could help to increase the flexible modulus up to 20%, reduce the Coefficient of Linear Thermal Expansion down to 20% and reduce the shrinkage down to 8%, Moreover, the stiffness/impact balance remains excellent. A 5% reduction in part density with a 25% reduction in talc loading whilst improving the overall stiffness/impact balance of the part.
