Arnhem, the Netherlands, November 10, 2016 – Teijin Aramid has received the 2016 Global Enabling Technology Leadership Award from leading independent market research firm Frost & Sullivan. This award recognizes the unmatched performance of conveyor belts reinforced with Teijin Aramid’s high-performance aramid products, which enable the mining industry to realize a lower cost of ownership, longer lifetime and reduced energy consumption.

Within the mining industry, the transportation of minerals and heavy burdens on conveyor belts account for a significant share of energy consumption and CO2 emissions. A Twaron-reinforced belt weighs up to 40% less and has less rolling resistance, resulting in high energy savings of up to 25% and reduced emissions. Twaron’s outstanding properties also increase lifetime, reduce downtime and maximize output.

Twaron high-performance aramid fibers are renowned for their excellent material properties and are five times stronger than steel weight for weight, reducing the weight of the conveyor belt and lowering the system rolling resistance. “This award recognizes our frontrunner role in supporting global conveyor belts manufacturers to develop more sustainable and cheaper operational practices,” said Gert Frederiks, CEO of Teijin Aramid. “Using our Customer Benefit Model, we can quantify that significant savings can be achieved thanks to increased lifetime and energy savings, all combined with positive environmental effects.”

According to Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Mariano Kimbara, “Teijin Aramid has successfully set an industry standard, backed by its ability to address the unmet user needs for a solution promising lower cost of ownership, longer lifetime and less energy consumption in conveyor belts. Teijin has successfully leveraged the key benefits of its best-in-class aramid product range in conveyor belts. Passionate to excel, the company focuses on identifying new opportunities in different application areas in the mining, steel, and power generation industries. With its strong overall performance, Teijin Aramid has earned Frost & Sullivan’s 2016 Enabling Technology Leadership Award.”

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated uniqueness in developing and leveraging new technologies that influence both the functionality and the customer value of new products and applications. The award recognizes high research and development (R&D) spending, the innovation’s relevance to the industry, and the positive effect on brand perception.  文章来源:http://www.chinacompositesexpo.com/en/news.php?show=detail&c_id=92&news_id=3972
