Dr. Huber has been one of the key figures in the Polymer Engineering area during his term of service in Fraunhofer ICT that is well known as the benchmark in the international research field of material technology and process engineering. Dr. Huber first joined ICT in 2007 and as project leader, he headed the working group Injection Molding and Extrusion and subsequently the research group Thermoplastic Processing. His field of work includes advanced processing technologies for thermoplastic polymers and foamed structures in extrusion, injection and compression molding as well as thermoset and thermoplastic based composites in high volume processes (Long Fiber reinforced Thermoplastics LFT, Sheet Molding Compound SMC, High Pressure Resin Transfer Molding HP-RTM, Wet Compression Molding, Automated Tape Laying, Pultrusion, Thermoset Injection Molding).

Advanced Composite Technology Center, normally known as ACTC, is built by HRC, the international composite whole solution providers and supported by Fraunhofer ICT as comprehensive technical partner. The organization is designed to be biggest in Asia, meanwhile the first open composite R&D center in China that’s aimed for automotive lightweighting. The targeted clients includes OEMs within and outside of Asia, tier one automotive parts suppliers, aerospace companies, rail transit and other industries, with focus of the research on thermosetting and thermoplastic area regarding different forming technologies and the application of continuous and discontinuous fibers. Located in Changshu High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Jiangsu Province, ACTC is in full swing and will be put into operation since the third quarter of 2019.

One of the most important orientations of ACTC is to build a cluster of outstanding composite talents and enterprises in Asia and worldwide. Shortly before, another senior professional from automotive industry, Mr. Yi Guo, also joined ACTC as Deputy General Manager. With master degree in Polymer Materials of the University of Rouen, France, Mr. Guo is an expert with both solid technical background and abundant business conduct. He has held senior positions in R&D, project and quality management sectors in well-known automotive and tier one supplier companies such as Volvo, Faurecia, etc. The experience of automobile project development and new materials application has given him profound understanding of automotive lightweight. The joining of those two heavyweights has fully showed ACTC's great determination in becoming a world-class composite R&D platform. As well recognized experts in their respective fields, the two parallel-driven engines will work together to lead ACTC, a train ready for high-speed operation, into a fast track. 文章来源:http://www.chinacompositesexpo.com/en/news.php?news_id=7644
