原文：http://www.chinacompositesexpo.com/en/news-detail-92-11317.htmlAugust 12th, Beijing – At the closure of Tokyo Olympics 2020, Aerospace Research Institute of Materials & Processing Technology (ARIMT) unveiled China’s first homegrown bobsleigh developed for Beijing Winter Olympic 2022. The bobsleigh is believed to employ world-leading aerospace technology, which proves vital to improve athletes’ performance.


The bobsleigh was developed by a consortium of 12 institutions and companies led by ARIMT, under the support of China’s Ministry of Science and Technology and Administration of Sports.

With a weight of 180kg, the bobsleigh is made from carbon/glass hybrid composites and alloys. It adopts thermoplastic prepreg/autoclave processing technology to form a streamlined integrated structure featuring low wind resistance and high reliability. The first prototype has been certified by China’s national bobsleigh team. The second modified version will be delivered by September 15th, 2021 to perform test on the track, and concurrently enter into certification process.

Before being watched in Winter Olympic Games, the bobsleigh will be displayed at the Innovative Products Showcase at CCE2021, delayed to be held in December, 2021.
