What’s New in China? Focus on China
¡ï Situation of Chinese Industry Development in 2008
According to the national statistics for 417 Chinese scaled enterprises, the situation of the industry in 2008 was:
Gross production value: 25800 million RMB, 17.8% increase
The increase of industry production: 8670 million RMB, 17.89% increase
Value of new products: 116 million RMB, 9.4% increase
Total marketing: 25300 million RMB, 17.7% increase
Exportation: 1170 RMB, 9.9% increase

¡ï Increase in composite production in 2008 and 2009
Facing the challenge of the global financial crisis, which has given the negative impact to most nations during 2008-2009, Chinese Composite Industry still shows its stable growth. The output of composite products of China in 2008 reached to 2.90 million tons i.e. around 12% increase£¬and the number will be 3.05 million tones in 2009 i.e. 5% increase. The statistic data of composite production of China in year of 2008 is shown as follows:
Glass fiber   2.20 million tons
UPR        1.25 million tons
FRSP       1.79 million tons
FRTP       0.56 million tons
CCL        0.55 million tons

¡ï Sustainable Development of Chinese Composites Industry
The Chinese composites market has been developed rapidly with a double-digit increase rate per annum. China has become one of the largest production and consumption country of unsaturated polyester resin and epoxy resin in the world. The tendency of composite production growth is well shown in the figure.

¡ï Strong Development of Carbon Fiber Products in China
¡øProjects on carbon fiber & products have been involved in several National Key Program of China, and China can produce its own carbon fiber, not only depending the importation.
¡ø Strong market demand as the driving force to stimulate and to accelerate the development of carbon fiber in China.
¡øThere are numbers of PAN main manufacturers in China, and the key technology of making the precursor for carbon fiber PAN has been breakthrough.
¡ø Numbers of production lines with the scale of thousands tons of carbon fiber have been set up in China. The products have been improved and met the requirements for some military and civil engineering applications.

¡ï Investment will be put on several section in 2009-2010
¡ø Rail and track transportation including the application of composite materials.
¡ø The industry of clean and renewable energy.
¡ø Improvement of the environment protection.
Why you access China Composites Expo 2010?
China: a huge market for composites
You will have the opportunity to meet the end users in China Composites Expo from the areas of auto, marine, ground transportation, aero & space, wind energy, infrastructure like railway construction, shipping builders, housing builders, all kinds of raw materials suppliers. The biggest composite market is in Asia, and in China.
China Composites Expo will provide you with great business opportunity
With the rapidly growing in recent decades, the application of composite materials is also much widening in China. Composite materials have been widely used in auto, aircraft, boat, construction, aerospace, wind energy, offshore oil/gas, pressure container, and national defense and sports/leisure goods in China.

Largest wind energy market in the world
The wind energy development targets of National Development and Reform Commission are: accumulated total installed capacity will reach 21,000 MW in 2009, 31,000 MW by 2010, and 100,000 MW by 2020. Nevertheless, these targets will be achieved in advance due to policy encouragement.
In year of 2008, China has consumed near 70,000 tons of composite materials, and 4000 sets of new wind mill with 1.5 MW capacity was built. There 40 composites manufacturers have been involved in composite blades production.
China put Reproducible Energy Law into effect on Jan. 1st, 2006. It triggered fast development of wind energy industry. It has provided a vast market foreground for composite rotor blade industry.
It is obviously indeed that Chinese enterprises really need to introduce the advanced technology, processing and raw materials to improve the wind mill production and ensure the quality of those critical moving parts, and to develop the new tech of offshore wind mill.

Large aircraft program, big challenge and opportunity
In Oct. of 2008, the first branch flight ARJ 21 had the first success test flight, in July of 2009 the second branch flight ARJ 21-700 launched successfully. They are all Chinese intellectual property and have very good market.
The launch of Chinese manned space shuttle and large aircraft programs provides great opportunities for the development of advanced composite materials and the related technologies. The establishment of China Commercial Aircraft Company Ltd. in May of 2008 indicates a new milestone for the development of Chinese aero industry. 30%-50% composite components will be used for the large flight structure. Now China has made the ARJ 21 branch flight and provided variety of composite parts for Boeing and Airbus. Airbus flights have been assembled in Tianjin, China.

High tech & innovation in China
China has accepted advanced fabrication technology and equipment to promote the production efficiency reduce materials and energy consumption, reduce the impact to the environment, and industrialize the recycle technology for composite materials.

High speed increase of auto industry
With annual increase of approx. 20% for recent 4 years, the output of automobiles in China in 2007 was 8.9 million, ranged the third place in the world. Still, there is a large space for the development of composite part application in auto industry in China. Although the growth rate of Chinese auto industry has been slowed down for several percentages during 2008-2009 due to the global financial crisis, it still goes up stably with the rate of around 10%. The sell goes to the number one place in the world for the fist half year of 2009. On the other hand, the investment has been put on the R & D of the autos with new energy system; the autos with new fuel batteries will be scaled produced in year of 2010.

Huge market for infrastructure and housing construction
In order to reply the global financial crisis, Chinese government has made policies to enhance the domestic market demand and to put investment on projects of infrastructures. For instance, several high speed new railway lines will be built in years, new underground transportation lines will be built in cities. It will include a lot of the application of composite and new materials.
With annual new construction area of 1600-1900 million m2 and annual increase of 12.6%, China has become the biggest market for construction. The annual increase for urban housing has been 500-600 million m2, 400-500 million m2 for public & industry buildings, and 700-800 million m2 for farm housing. The output value of construction will be 5.5% of the whole value of Chinese national economy. No doubts, composite materials shall have its market share.

Prosperous ship building industry
Composite materials have been ageing in shipbuilding industry in China. Due to their high specific strength, corrosion resistance, non-magnetic properties and production simplicity, high radio-transparency, good sound transparency and resistance to interference and strength properties, composite materials have been widely used in marine industry as superstructures and deck houses, pressure vessels and piping, for civil and military use.
Strong economy growth drives the rapid development of ship and yacht building served more and more rich people. There are 320 high-class ship builders in China, and 1.06 million ships and yachts were exported. Furthermore, there are now 900,000 wooden fishing boats in operation; they will be replaced by composite boats in coming 20 years according to Chinese policy. It should be a good market for composite industry.
